Part of me expected to struggle with this book because I don't love enemies to lovers and I don't love asshole characters. But Marc, once you get to know him, comes less like an asshole and more of a person whose emotional range is limited to disgust but isn't actually hateful. Ian goes through a complex reconciliation with his feelings. Marc goes through a "help, I'm feeling!" sort of moment, like the grinch does.
All of this actually makes it seem like "I got to know them and I actually like them" and not like "they're hot so I can overlook everything I dislike of them", which is a hole enemies to lovers tends to sink to. I actually liked it after all
