๐ ๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ ๐๐ผ ๐ฆ๐ต๐ถ๐ฒ๐น๐ฑ is a second chance romance featuring a sexy FBI agent, Killian, and a genius, socially awkward professor, Millie. They are both brilliant AF, complimenting each other perfectly.
While this is a second chance romance, itโs different from those Iโve read in the past. The passion and chemistry are palpable, but this story isnโt necessarily about overcoming the trials and tribulations to get their happily ever after. Donโt get me wrong: Killian and Millie have some obstacles in front of them, but there is so much more going on than their love story.
I loved the brief flashbacks into Killian and Millieโs initial friendship/relationship. The way everything happened when they saw each other again? Chefโs kiss. Kennedy L. Mitchell did a phenomenal job with their relationship. She couldโve easily went with the miscommunication trope, but she didnโt (for which I will be forever grateful!). Killian and Millie communicate so well, which was absolutely necessary as they went undercover to liberate someone from a rather unhinged, misogynistic cult.
My favorite thing about these two is their vulnerability with each other. Killianโs insecurities and feelings of inadequacy force him to live life with a facade carefully in place, but he removes his mask for Millie, and only for her. Millie is there for him unconditionally and without question. She helps him through the darkness the way only she can.
Iโm not ashamed to say I swooned every time Killian said her name because it was never JUST her name. It was never just Millieโit was always ๐บ๐ Millie. In his thoughts; in conversation. Constantly. Freaking swoon.
