Such a strange book. I liked the mini biographies but wasn't a fan of the interspersed fictional stories or the intros to each section, which featured a character talking directly to the reader as if in conversation. Those were confusing and, because the writing style was so different from the other sections, disrupted the flow of the book.

Additionally, the "forgotten witches" aren't all witches. The book is indiscriminate in its use of the word witch. Shapeshifters, supernatural creatures (ie vampires), other non-witch entities are also included.

Overall at least half of the book seemed as if it was there just to make the book longer.
