Have you ever read a book where you get to the end and you’re just like what the heck did I just read, but you’re unsure if it’s the books fault or your own? Well, that’s how I felt at the end of this one. I was so intrigued with the storyline of deadly mirror bargains, vampires and the enemies to lovers trope, but half the time I was so confused on what was going on I almost had to DNF.
I will be honest, I am a fairly new fantasy reader and while I am loving the genre sometimes I don’t think I am "smart" enough to fully appreciate and comprehend some of the world building that takes place. A lot of the chapters felt like info dumps to me and I had a difficult time remembering a lot of it and keeping track of who was who and where they were.
By the end I was glad that I had stuck with it to the end as everything started to piece together.
Thank you to the author and NerdFam for the eARC.
