Joanna and Nicholas were both raised, separately, in isolation, taught to revere the spell books in their families' possession. Esther, Joanna's sister, has been on the run for the last decade, staying away from her family in order to protect them. This is a gorgeously written tale, with elements of magical realism and a strong found-family element, about the power of books and connection. By the end of this book, I was so wrapped up in the story that I switched off between audiobook, print and Kindle, so I could keep reading wherever I was. I can't wait for more from Törzs.
