Something Good is book one in the Once and Always series. This MM second chance romance story is about Sammy and Will.
Sammy and Will's story is an emotional one. They were childhood best friends up until Will's family moved away and they lost touch. Seven years later, Will moves back after his graduation from high school. During that summer before he leaves for college, Will and Sammy can't help but fall for each other. Unfortunately Sammy ends up making a decision he thinks is for the best, and it ends up breaking both their hearts. Ten years later, we find Sammy and Will reuniting again. Sammy is looking for a second chance, and Will is scared to give him one. Sammy and Will definitely had me rooting for them to get their HEA.
I absolutely loved Sammy. My heart broke to see everything he went through. He always would protect others and put their needs above his own, especially when it came to his younger brother Jimmy. I was so happy to see Sammy persevere in the end, but I have to admit his career choice didn’t make sense to me. As for Will, I did struggle a bit with some of his choices as well as his behavior at times. But in the end I am glad he returned to those he left behind, especially his mother and Jason. As for the rest of the side characters, I really enjoyed them and hope we get to see more of them in the future. Overall, I think this was a great start to a new series.
