Last year, Kate Watson knocked my socks off with her Christmas novella ๐ฎ๐พ๐๐๐โฏ ๐๐๐ ๐๐ฝโฏ ๐ฒ๐ถ๐. I was completely smitten with Juliet and Nate. So when she posted about a new Christmas book I was elated. And to my surprise this story features Julietโs best friend Liesel. The very one (indirectly) responsible for them getting together. Not only do we get a great story, but we get to see Jules and Nate in all their romantic glory!!
Kate writes some of the best enemies to more dialogue. ๐๐ข๐ง๐๐ ๐๐ก๐๐ซ๐โ๐ฌ ๐๐จ ๐๐ฅ๐๐๐ ๐๐จ ๐๐จ is an enemies to more/childhood crush gone sour between sports organization colleagues forced to work together for the betterment of their team. Even though they have worked on the same team, they hadnโt had any personal contact or communication until the fateful airport meeting. Which is HILARIOUS!!! Talk about awkward.
Liesel is a no nonsense, strait laced, all business whirlwind. Cooper is a cocky, showboat baseball player on the DL for next season. But Cooper and Liesel have a lot more in common than they realize. These two hard headed, stubborn, passionate-about-baseball people give us show worthy of a MVP award. With their banter, tension, and teasing, Liesel and Coop quickly capture your heart.
And letโs not forget about the family dynamics! Both have excellent family relationships. There are some sad moments with each having their own personal struggles, but the support and love they have is so sweet. Iโll just tell ya, the Fischer โtwinsโ and Coop together are a riot. I love the protectiveness Lieselโs dad and brothers have concerning her. But Cooperโs new found feelings are just as fierce and protective.
Seriously, a fantastic read all around! With the bonus of seeing Nate and Juliet, I am one very satisfied reader.
Thank you, Kate, for the advanced copy; all opinions are my own.
