5✨ i am blown away by this story. yet another incredible story from keri lake and i honestly still can’t wrap my mind around all this. it was fantastic.

i love farryn dammit. she was amazing. i felt so connected to her personality. her way of dissociating, her determination, her refusal to accept certain things was great. i just loved how she went about everything. she was so brave and daring by trying to figure everything and daring to to go to nightshade. it was just so wild and i loved it. i’m so looking forward to the continuation of her journey. jericho. why is he amazing? why are men with wings always the best? i love his recluse vibe and his reputation and just everything about him. i love his immediate reaction to farryn while not understanding why or the scope of it. i just loved getting his pov and learning so much about him while still having so many questions when it comes to him. he’s lived through and experienced so much and i loved it. he was such a great character and i can’t wait to get more of him. (view spoiler)[finding out that he lost his memories fucking broke me. i was not expecting that. i knew that he was the baron and there was something strange going on, but i didn’t expect to be memory loss but i also loved it so much. i thought it was a great addition to the story. he was her guardian. of course he was. it’s ingrained in him to protect whether he remembers her or why or not. and then he remembered her!!! he literally embedded himself into her skin so that they would find each other again and i was ruined. because once he’s got her, he could never let her go. no wonder he would give up his wings…his life…for her. lustina. god i loved her. i loved getting her point of view and everything she went through and experienced and the progression of her relationship with the baron. i think getting so much of her pov was just the biggest benefit to the story. it was so crucial and pivotal to the whole story and made for an amazing plot/continuation. (view spoiler)[i knew farryn was lustina reincarnated. i was so positive. first i was thinking descendant somehow but then i just knew. it felt so right. especially the with the brand/birthmark. and i just loved everything about it. - why are they dreaming of each other? what’s the connection? was it him watching her as a child? or someone else?
- the baron is jericho. the same jericho??? or descendant like i’m thinking farryn is of lustina given the brand/birthmark
- but is he the baron!?!?!? I CANNOT DECIDE. it seems like he is. i think it’s likely. but i just. don’t. know.
- he has to be the same jericho as the baron in the time of pentacrux. then he’s centuries old holy shit. my fave age gap
- why is cassiel crossing over repeatedly? why did he leave his feather in her room? is he who had been watching over as a child? what does it mean?
- cassiel nooo 😭 what happened to him to make him into that!!! devastated. i didn’t want to lose him
- if he experiences rur’axze then he has demon in him. but he’s not one of the fallen or an angel or cambion. a sentinel?

- holy shit they wiped his memories and he doesn’t remember lustina and that’s why he dreams of her/them and can’t see her. she’s there in his mind, he just can’t reach her
- happy to confirm that i was basically right about everything. which isn’t that shocking cause how can you not think reincarnation and parallel lives but still. i feel immense satisfaction

keri lake’s mind never ceases to amaze me. truly i was just dumbfounded by this story. my fifth keri lake book and my fifth five star read of hers. this story was so magnificent. it felt like a cross between anathema and the isle of sin and shadows in some respects. everything with the past & present timelines, the multiple pov’s, the pentacrux and occult vibes, the demons and angels and everything was just so wow. and this undying, eternal, everlasting, fated, unyielding, unbreakable love is…i don’t even have the words to properly describe this book and how much i loved it. and the world building??? holy shit. so incredible and well done. i’m so excited to continue this story with infernium and see where it all goes. especially with this ending. just an amazing book.
