Alana is such a unique, beautiful writer. I’ve never read anyone quite like her. I’ve been following her poetry for years and was so pleased when she started writing longer essays - I feel her writing really shines in prose. She doesn’t take herself too seriously and if you look closely there are always winks and nods to how strange and ultimately silly it is to be human. Authentic, witty, lovely - I could go on and on but I won’t, because I have to reread this book now!
