Yup. ‘Tis the season! 😍
✔ Single.
✔ Hot biker.
✔ Grumpy-pants.
✔ Girl Dad.
Gimme, gimme, gimme! I could not have asked for a more mood-boosting MC holiday romance story than this one. It was completely unputdownable that I easily read it in one sitting. It’s that damn good!
Giddiness shot through me after reading the premise— I could never pass up a nanny romance. The fact that the story delivered with not only the romance but with exceptional Christmas holiday vibes, only made it all the more enjoyable.
It’s constantly developing, but I also thought it was well-paced storytelling. There are certain parts that does resolve relatively abruptly, but the overall story doesn’t feel rushed or disjointed. It did however, left me wanting to see more not only from Grace, Lucky, and his little ones, but also from his motorcycle club. There’s a fun little group of characters included who added another layer of entertainment, as well as genuine friendships. James did a fantastic job at setting the atmosphere, and bringing the backdrop to life.
Lucky and Grace’s chemistry was instantaneous, and I was happily lapping up their interactions. The little moments of restrain from Lucky only heightened the anticipation of seeing their relationship evolve from platonic to romantic more so.
Who doesn’t love a hot, single dad, who not only rides a motorcycle, but who is also thoughtful and protective as they come?! Lucky is another Evil Dead MC club member and MMC who was effortlessly appealing. I liked the fact that although he has a tendency to be grumpy, he’s not at all a rough or jerky in nature.
Grace is upbeat, open-minded, and just plain likable. She IS the perfect nanny for Lucky and his little girls.
Whilst the Evil Dead MC is very much present in this story, they’re not in the forefront. They play a secondary role to Lucky and Grace’s story, but there’s still enough MC elements and suspense included that gives a little bit more complexity and setbacks prior to their HEA.
It’s a raunchy, sexy version of a Hallmark Christmas story. It’s both a smile AND blush-inducing romance! With dual POVs, you get to see both Lucky’s and Grace’s thought-process, and how they navigate through their emotions.
Although it’s a minor portion of the book, please note it does contain sensitive matters that some readers may find difficult to read about. It includes physical abuse, stalking, and deals with health-related death. In my opinion, not dark, overly graphic and/or triggering, but something to prepare yourself for you are sensitive towards these certain topics.
Lucky and Grace go through genuine life-altering changes in their lives. Two different backstories but nevertheless, experiences that many can relate to. Beneath the romance, their story is very much about healing, moving on, and taking a chance at new beginnings.
But all in all, it's a fun book to hunker down with for the day or night. It left me happy-sighing in contentment. There are tons of feel-good moments, and swoony scenes that’ll have you holding your breath. I love that this was set within the Evil Dead MC world, yet it can easily be read as a standalone if you’re not familiar with James’ EDMC books.
If you enjoy nanny romance books, with adorable children, holiday cheer, and a heartwarming found-family element, add this one to your immediate TBR! It’s the perfect book to get you into the festive season.
