Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice: 🌶🌶🌶
Everything that C.R. Jane
spectacular. Especially her sports romances. The Wrong Quarterback is just as great as her 'The Wrong Pucking' series, with all the red flags, just a little more tame on the spicy parts. Like maybe this is an NA book versus her all-out adult romances. You still get all the crazy though, and that's what I enjoy most about these men in her books.
Tropes:
- College Football Romance
- Dark
- Obsessed/Possessive MMC
- All the Red Flags
- Love at First Sight
- Jealousy
- Vrgn FMC
- Hurt/Comfort
- LOL Moments
- Reformed Playboy
- New Circle if Trust but called No Drama Llamas or something else. (They're still working on the name)
Parker is the youngest brother of Walker...aka Disney from The Pucking Wrong Date. If you've read those books, then you know who Parker is. Don't worry, you still get to see text between the crazy brothers and even time with Walker and Olivia.
In this book, you'll also meet Parker's best friends and teammates, Jace and Matty. These two are a trip, especially Jace. He is the jokester and tells dirty dad jokes. They're awful but hilarious. His book is coming up next, and I personally can't wait! Matty is the more serious friend, and he had their backs no matter what.
Parker is a TA for a college class and sees Casey in the back of the room. Like all these guys, as soon as he saw her, it clicked. Parker knew Casey was his, and he would stop at nothing to get her, and I do mean nothing.
Casey feels it to, but she is dealing with so much pain and hurt over a loss that it leaves her confused. She has a boyfriend, Gray, who was her brothers best friend growing up. She always loved him and thought they were supposed to be together.
Gray is not a good boyfriend. We'll just leave it at that. Although, I would have liked to see more of what he was doing. I don't think Casey was the only girl he was with, but it didn't specify. What Parker does to ensure their breakup was not something legal... but he was tired of waiting for Casey to see she was with the wrong man.
Parker worshiped Casey, and she could do no wrong. He helped her with things she thought she could never do again. Was Parker crazy obsessed... yes, but would he do anything and give anything to Casey because he loves her? Also, yes. These two did belong together, even if all if it wasn't traditional.
If you read The Pucking Wrong Date, do you remember the text thread with Walker's brothers, and they talked about Parker's basement? Yeah, that's a scene. If you know what I'm talking about, then you know.
This is a definite read of you love crazy, obsessed men. You get more of an inside into Parker's home life. It was mentioned in Walker's book about their mother, but you get to actually see her in this book and all that Parker has to do. Walker and Cole ran away from their problems and left Parker behind to pick up the pieces and take care of her. It wasn't right, nor fair. My heart broke for Parker in those moments and the little boy who grew up with those memories.
Casey's home life wasn't any better. It was something her and Parker had in common. Especially their mother's. I do wish Casey would have taken Parker back to meet her mom and see how that would have gone. I think Parker could have handled that situation better than most and helped Casey out with it. She never even brought up the similarities between their moms with Parker.
As always, I do love a great sports romance from the amazing C.R. Jane. I love that she actually puts the sports in her romances. You either feel like you're at a hockey game actually watching it happen. Or, in this case, a football game. You can feel like you're part of the crowd cheering the team on. This author knows her sports and the positions on the teams. I love it!
