I need Meryl Streep to narrate my life. It's a hard book to rate because I don't think I would've liked this book if I hadn't listened to it on audio and if it wasn't narrated by Meryl Streep - it really is just a soapy story of family romance/history told while the family picks cherries from an orchard in Michigan. But something about the atmosphere and being steeped in it for 11.5 hours got to me.
I don't think I will reread Tom Lake because the story wasn't personally impactful enough to revisit, but it was a really lovely experience and made my commute much more bearable.
