4 Tell Me A Story Stars

Who doesn't want to be a princess? Most little girls dream of finding their prince. Living in a castle. Having a pet unicorn. Driving Barbie's Corvette. Yep. We all have big dreams when we are little. The stuff fairy tales are made of. Brooklyn had dreams too. But hers were more of the nightmare variety.
Brooklyn witnessed her mother murdered in the parking lot a grocery store when she was 6 years old. She went to a group home where she didn't speak a long time. Now she is in college and trying to make a life for herself. She knows that fairy tales don't always come true and certainly not for her.
Finn is a sexy man-about-campus who is also the lead singer of a band. He doesn't need fairy tales. He IS the stuff of fairy tales, dreams, and wishful thinking. When he bumps into Brooklyn, literally bumps into her, he is a jerk. No fairy tales here remember? Brooklyn sees his good looks, dimples and smart mouth and knows she needs to stay far away.
...I like them to have at least about a fourth grade vocabulary and reading level if I'm going to have to spend any amount of time with them.
As they spend more time together, they realize they don't have to get to know each other...its like there is already something there. Something they were uncovering not creating.
Finn Chambers was the worst kind of wonderful-charming, attractive, funny, and painfully intuitive.
But no fairy tales here remember...Who is sending Brooklyn black roses? And why does she feel watched? There are some super sexy scenes. Not tons of steam, but sexy. There are scary scenes. Sweet scenes. Funny scenes. And some down right creepy scenes. And those dreams? They are revealing what Brooklyn never wanted to know.
This is a great read. Lots of good angst. Lots of "Oh no she didn't". And one really big WTF. A good story? Oh yeah. Ms Johnson knows how to tell a good story. And at her age, its only going to get better.
