Wow. On *day 7* and loving this book so much. I want to slurp it up like a noodle.

Finished: terrific; amazing teen voice and utterly believable characters -- the "mean girls" made, somehow, relatable! The story is so bittersweet, though I wished ...

... for a different ending for the characters (of COURSE), as a reader, I found the ending very powerful. The cumulative grief of those left behind -- left entirely to the reader's imagination -- is haunting.

And how wonderful is Kent? Love him. My new book boyfriend :-)

Elena Allison The ending was so powerful. And honest. This is evil to say, but had her life not ended, she wouldn't have gotten what she deserved. It would've changed the entire point of the book in my opinion. When Sam realized what she had to do, that was when she matured and when I gained the most respect for her. The only thing I think she did wrong that day was Kent. I understand why she did it, she eeded to recognize real love before she died, but as Kent put it, "she leads him on then dissapears." This is just another example of that. Maybe I'm biased because McFuller was my favorite character, but her death will hurt him so much. I wished we had gotten more for an epilogue. I want to know what people at her school will say. Was it an accident? Was it because of Rob? I think the only people who will change are Lindsay, Ally, Elody, and Juliet. I do like the mystery behind not having an epilogue. This book made me realize how much time we waste. It also taught me a lot about what it means to love and to hate. And dare I say it, I found myself empathizing with the mean girls. Who knew? I wish I could read 1000 stories like this one. This was my first Lauren Oliver, so next comes Vanishing Girl and Delirium.
