Okay, less flippantly: Like the ending of Dollhouse, it's a mess and a mess that reads like the writer dumped in a lot of his favorite tropes without bothering to get there in a sensible way. Some of these are my favorite tropes, too, and I resent that they're being done so badly I don't even like them here.
