The Diary of a Young Girl

From the very first moment you read this book, you become so overcome by the emotions that Anne is feeling that it surprises you. This book really, really seems to capture the strength of the human spirit and applify it across generations. While soem voices from this time period have been silenced, this voice shouts to the heavens about the unjustices in the world and the cruelty that humanity is capable of. I felt myself cheering Anne on when she was happy, feeling sad when she feld alone, and sighing with happiness when she fell in love with Peter. Every line that she wrote seems to correspond with some aspect of any person's life. I beleive that this book is truly the greatest autobiography ever wrtitten, and it should be a required read for all middle and high school languages arts classes and history classes. Also, this book made me cry at the end. (She dies, just in case you didn't already know that.)
