Almost unreadable. There are a few strands of plot only one of which makes any sense and even that one is pretty laboured. The strand where the man learns about the chemical company could have been interesting but it is really dense with chemical details. The rest of it, for example the bit about the "bridge" makes no sense. Apparently the other books in this series are better - let's hope so
