A big book with a unique plot which, on the whole, I did enjoy but I was surprised to find that in places it was pretty cheesy with laboured dialogue & cliched, not entirely believable, relationships. It’s definitely a story which is ‘told’ via information dumps rather than by its characters. I just found it too twee to totally enjoy & therefore am not particularly interested in following the whole series. I’m glad I’ve read it as I’ve seen so many polarising reviews but it’s not going down as a fave for me. I’ve loved Lucinda Riley’s stand alone books but this series has a completely different style, and feel.
