The Stepford Wives

I read this when I was too young, sometime in the early Seventies. By now, everyone should know what the twist is, even if they have never read it. Stepford has entered our collective conciousness for certain kinds of communities and certain kinds of women. All I can say is that this book scared me as much as, if not more than, when I was a kid.
Although written by a man, this is a strong example of feminist literature. It's truly terrifying.
