it was amazing

Freya Barker never fails to move me with her words. Cabin 12 is yet another example of how her writing grabs you, pulls you in, and transports you into a world filled with breathtaking romance, heart pounding suspense, deep family bonds, and gripping mystery. There’s this mix of both instant comfort and bouncing excitement I get every time I open one of her books. It’s one of my favorite feelings in the world.
As always no one does more mature and real characters quite the way Freya Barker does. Bella was not only a character I loved reading about, she was also another character from Freya that I could relate to on a much deeper level. This is where I once again have to pause and say a thank you to the author. She does not shy away from mental health, and she also doesn’t wrap it up in a pretty bow. Her realistic and honest approach to writing a character with depression filled my heart in a way I can’t even begin to explain.
Bella made me feel less alone in what I personally struggle with and I cannot thank this author enough for that. Bella having depression did not define her in the least, it was just a part of her not who she was. Her strength, drive, and determination along with a heart full of endless love rounded her into a character I will always consider a favorite.
Jasper was another hero from Freya that stole my heart. They all do. Her heroes are all distinctly unique, but always have that something special that takes them to a whole other level of swoony awesomeness. For Jasper there were many things that made me adore him, but mostly it’s the way he protects and cares for Bella without holding her back and always respecting her. This is a man who’s not afraid to let his woman shine and be the incredibly strong person she is.
