He worked really hard - like other immigrants at that time, and the shovel passed through the generations and being used in different ways.

This story is interesting to children because they always curious about where their ancestors came from. It explains to children how immigrant came to the New World for opportunities and their lives at that time. This warm story lets children think about the multicultural that immigrants brought to this country and that makes this country diverse. The illustrations are very clear and nice with full color to the edges. Pictures correspond to the text and hold the children's interest while the text is read.
