Gone with the Whisker (Bookmobile Cat Mystery, #8)

Many decades ago I read almost nothing but cozy mysteries. Then I switched to other genres, and I've never really gotten the cozy love back. This is one of the few series I read these days, and I'll admit I thought it was getting stale. This book is a positive change, though. First of all, Minnie's young niece is living with her for the summer, so Minnie has someone besides Eddie the cat to talk to. And her relationship with Rafe is moving along. I'd like to see them together more, because I think it's a good way to give the books more depth, but at least we got a couple of scenes with them.
The mystery was fine - all the clues are there for you to follow - and if I figured it out early on I don't consider that a problem. What I liked about cozies was the uusual settings, lack of violence, and interesting characters. Unfortunately most of the ones I try to read these days only have one dimensional characters and rely on setting to carry the story. This series has been above average and I'm glad to see it's still going strong.
