really liked it

I'm a big fan of Anne Bogel's podcast, which is about books, but she also references personality frameworks a lot in her episodes. So it's not a surprise she wrote a book summarizing a lot of the frameworks! She covers the basics of extrovert/introvert, the 5 love languages, highly sensitive people, Myers-Briggs type indicators, Strength Finders, and the Enneagram. It's actually thanks to her I just read a whole book on the Enneagram, and this was a nice refresher. This is a great primer and probably does exactly what she meant to do, being just an introduction to all these ideas, but I kind of wish she had gone deeper into each one.

She includes a resources section with recommended reading, so I will probably hit up some of those. Also the end notes are worth reading (I always read them!) because she includes the links to a few free tests for the various frameworks. I immediately took them for fun.

She is very honest about her journey and how difficult it can be to examine yourself honestly, but she encourages people to do it so that a) they don't feel crazy, and b) learning about other points of view can make us more compassionate.
