WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG TO READ THIS??

I got this on a whim from the BOTM back in...May? I think. I had other books I put in front of this one and I really wish I hadn't. Believe me, I am glad that I finally did read it.

First off, there are a lot of characters and Kimberly McCreight goes into extreme detail of every single character in such a great way that is so fluid and great. You start to know so much about them that you believe you know who they are in person. It is normally a very good good to have of course. In this book, it was very much needed. Trust me.

There are so many twists and turns. You think you know the murderer but then you turn the page and BAM. You are completely second guessing yourself. I couldn't guess it. That takes a lot for me not to guess who it is. Not tootin my own horn or anything!

Alright, a summary:
Lizzie is working her tail off at a very elite law firm. She works day in and day out. She is bombarded with work but she also doesn't want to go home to her alcoholic husband who just recently drove his vehicle into a building! (Big law suit, and Lizzie's job has no idea). A phone call comes in to Lizzie from a very hardcore jail that is in the area. It is Zach, Lizzie's friend from long ago back when they were in college together. Zach is being held in jail for assaulting a police officer at a murder scene. His wife's murder to be exact.
Lizzie takes Zach on as a client (after a lot of fighting with him about it). This takes her into Park Slope, a very rich neighborhood. Park Slope brings in marital dysfunction from multiple couples, a cyber bully attack on the parents of the ritsy school, and a very popular party with a lot of swinging involved within the parents.

LOVED this book, like I said. I am definitely going to look into more books by this author. I hope they are as good as this one; I will keep a look out for future books by her as well. Do yourself a favor, grab a copy.
