This book leaves readers wanting for more. The beginning of the book is quite intriguing and immediately hooks the reader into the world of magic and curses.

The book could have been made interesting if the pacing would not have been all over the place. There were instances where a journey which is supposed to take months, makes the reader feel as if the main character has reached the destination in a few days. The pacing often leaves the reader confused as to what is the time or the day where it is occurring.The writing is not edited properly. The character also appears to be underdeveloped. They are good but leave the reader expecting more from them.

However, the book had several plus points which make us overlook the cons. I especially appreciated the new and fresh content. YA novels often end up using the same concept. However, this one viewed the shift in a different manner. Instead of the werewolves being a creature of immortality by birth. These are actual humans who have turned into werewolves and are forced to be in this state. Also the fact that they turn into werewolves at different time intervals instead of in the presence of a full moon.They deeply resent this and try to find ways to overcome the same. The world supports gender equality. The main character, though a girl, is given the same importance and allowed to serve in the army as that of man. It can also be seen when there is a fight between Princess Gisla and Lord Arnkell, where the person who wins in the fight shall be the ruler of the kingdom, and other the consort.
