I've been reading this series in order and I think this episode is the best. No one was murdered, but there is a thread of suspense that kept me guessing until the end. Who was the stalker? Who stole the puppy? What about Melanie and Sam? And, of course, what about Bob? Though there is enough background information that allows the books of this series to be enjoyed out of order, reading in order lets the reader have a better feeling for the relationships among the characters.
