In what seemed to be another infallible hit for one of literature's most prolific and respected writers, became a book filled with hatred political vitriol and a much confused message. I respect Mr King. Hell, he's one of my top 3 favorite authors of all times. This latest novel, 'Billy Summers' had everything lined up to be a banger, and one for the ages. A 'hitman' with a code (much like the show Dexter); a chance encounter between a sexual assault victim and the hitman; a double cross, and so on...

Yet, SK could not keep his deep political sentiments and true hatred for Trump (and all things related) into the narrative, and thus distracted immensely from the ultimate goal of the project. Look, I don't care where you stand with politics, but one thing is for sure: I don't want a political bias all over my fictional book. When I read is to escape reality, and travel into worlds not possible or lives and circumstances that could never be my own! If I wanted to read an aggressive, politically charged expose, I'd pick up a non-fictional book or political historical novel for that matter. It's a true shame, that SK has been increasingly doing that in his last 3 novels.

Here is to hoping that SK can move on from the political obsession, and just go back to writing books that keeps us dreaming.
