did not like it
bookshelves: 2021

Went from reading to skimming. This book was just not worth it. Here are my thoughts and they can be spoilery:

1) Even if it’s a favorite, the enemies-to-lovers and/or the hate-to-love trope is either a hit or miss for me. This book just proves it’s a HARD miss for me.

2) Pranks that humiliate people in public are not fun. Some of their pranks were okay but Jessie’s prank on Drew during the fundraiser gala was the cheapest of the cheapest shots. I’m that person who doesn’t like the idea of public proposals but to do that and to have it as part of a prank? Fuck outta here.

3) Immature characters. This sadly goes to Jessie again because god.. sometimes I forget she’s pregnant with all that’s happening.

4) If you’re gonna write an enemies-to-lovers romance, MAKE THE REASON FOR THE HATE BE JUSTIFIABLE. I know I ate up some of these reasons in other books but lately I realize how dumb they can be and how they’re a reason the book drags on for so many pages and it becomes irrelevant at all.

5) Don’t waste diapers.

I mean.. this book also had it’s ehhehduhCUTEheuhuhhue moments but not enough to save it for me.

Shirley Agree with your reviews, I can't stand Jessie's character

Lexi Rose Reads I agree. The pranks really bothered me especially the gala and the scrubs thing. As someone who wears scrubs for work, good quality ones are expensive. Not to mention, I have to wear specific colored ones so someone changing the color of them because they’re too lazy to do laundry would not fly.

Cloud Every point here is exactly what I thought about it! :( Her hate from the start was so strong, and so...sudden? And throughout, there was no proper reason for her to act that way. This felt like it was written in like...2 days? Idk, surprised this is rated 3.9 here :(

Hannah Cowan Yes!! Jessie’s immaturity almost made me stop reading

Kelly I agree. That prank totally ruined the book. There should have been much bigger consequences for that.

Larry (¬_¬) yeah i agree, i did NOT like the proposal pranl and it was hard to understand.

Larry (¬_¬) Other than that I LOOOOOOOVED the book!!!!!!!!!! So goood, definitely in my top 5
#lovethisbook

Carolina M GIRL I FEEL THE SAME!!!!!!!!! I’m so angry, this is so a waste of time 🙄

Kiahra Sanchez THROWING TOMATOES AT JESSIE

Hayatul Zakaria i tried to enjoy this book. the more i read, the more I hate her. The gala proposal is just too much that I had DNF right there

Jackie Omg thank you!! Usually I really enjoy this author. However I HATED Jessie as a character. I just could not deal with her immaturity and selfishness!!

Ammyandthebooks I agree with you. I love reading books w harmless pranks, but Jessie's prank on Drew during the gala was awful.

Nishita Mehra I completely agree with you on this
Actually sometimes i would get irritated by jessie's behavior
How can grown up mature women act like this 🤦‍♀️

Elena R I agree this book had such immature characters and the humiliation was not even good. And the hate she was litterally like i hate and am going to publicly humiliate you because i think your hot but i don't want to fall for you

Anna Whitehead I couldn’t find a single thing to love about Jessie.

Cynthia So boring and inmature! I lost my time

message 17: by Mere Bears Books (new)

Mere Bears Books I DNF'd this one at 29% after reading 5 straight pages of people fluffing over the fact she was flushed from sexy thoughts of Drew. I mean come on 😒

message 18: by Audrey (new)

Audrey Ledon I’m only on chapter five and I can’t stand Jessica she has no chill and reasoning. I think this is a DNF for me

Hope's corner I'm on chapter 9 and seriously jessie is immature!!and I'm irritated by the book but still have to complete it because i paid for it🥲

Karine Cruzado This review!!!!!!! This book had me asking myself “is that woman putting a CHILD into this world?”

The pranks 🙄

Merna Talaat Agreeee

message 22: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly Jako I went from not liking Jessie very much to hating her.

message 23: by Kat (new) - rated it 1 star

Kat Wish I read this comment before I started the audiobook. Good grief the main characters are annoying, especially Jess. DNF at 23% into the book … could not stand either of them and did not care to find out if they would redeem themselves.

whatstellareads I hated ow she is pregnant and constantly described as tiny and small and that her belly looks like she only swallowed a pebble even though she is in her third trimester .... like even pregnant women need to be described as tiny in romance book UGH

Addie Frank I don't like how they act like children and they're trying to justify they're actions because they know that they're being immature and childish even a teenager is more responsible than this.I know Jessica went through a lot as a child but she doesn't have to take it out on someone she doesn't even know. I understand that she doesn't want to be hurt but it's just rude of her to assume that he's going to

Rachana Prasad Yes the pranks got way too irritating for me too

Karem Montenegro Jessie is so disrespectful with Drew, she should value he is helping her. Very ungrateful and immature woman! She may have forgotten she is becoming a mom soon

Jacqueline I just got to that fundraiser prank and I don’t like Jessie either. She’s so immature.

Tania Lauby Same. This book was terrible. And I love her books! Just didn’t speak to me, I guess.
