We had a professional looking website. Initial set up was as discussed. We had a great support staffer named Alyzah. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Our experience with Advisor Websites -Snappy Kracken was frustrating, particularly when it came to making changes and getting support. The process was time-consuming, and we were unable to implement much of the marketing we had hoped for. Additionally, their presence in Canada was minimal, and despite multiple requests for improvements, nothing was done. Much of their library is not suitable for our market and we are paying for stuff we don't use.
The most disappointing part of our experience was attempting to cancel our subscription. The auto-renewal occurred on Sunday, February 9th, and we were unaware of the policy requiring advance notice to prevent renewal. Upon realizing this, I immediately contacted their team on Monday, February 10th, to request a cancellation. Since Snappy Kracken charges a full year in advance ($1,788), I was left out of pocket for an entire year. Despite multiple emails and appeals, my refund request was denied.
Aside from this issue, I didn’t encounter major challenges, but I found the service overpriced for what it offers. It’s essentially a DIY platform with limited support unless you are paying for it. This makes it difficult to justify the high cost. Over my 3–4 years with the company, we handled most of the website work ourselves with minimal assistance. While some time was available every month we did not get the answers we needed before deciding to move on.
I strongly caution potential customers to read the fine print before signing up. The year-in-advance payment model is rigid and punitive, especially when financial situations change. Their strict no-refund policy leaves little room for flexibility. If you're looking for a website service, I recommend exploring other providers that offer easier site migration and better customer support. Do your research before committing.
