"Easy to Use with All the Features I Need"
What do you like best about FreshBooks?

FreshBooks is extremely easy to use, even for someone without an accounting background. The interface is clean, intuitive, and saves me time when creating invoices, tracking expenses, or managing projects. Despite being user-friendly, it still offers a strong set of features like time tracking, recurring invoices, and payment reminders. It strikes the perfect balance between simplicity and functionality, which makes it a great tool for small businesses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about FreshBooks?

Although FreshBooks does a great job with ease of use, the reporting features could be more advanced for those who want deeper insights into financial trends. I’d also like a bit more flexibility when customizing invoices and dashboards. Additionally, the cost may feel high for freelancers or very small businesses on a tight budget. "I had no idea accounting could be this easy"
What do you like best about FreshBooks?

We were on a super time-sensitive project, and I could log hours right from my phone as I finished tasks—those hours went straight onto the invoice. What impressed me most was the built-in time tracking. For once, tracking my time actually felt productive instead of like wasted effort. Another lifesaver is the visual invoice calendar. It shows me when payments are due, which customers have already paid, and who I need to follow up with. That kind of clarity takes a lot of stress off me every month. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about FreshBooks?

Since we manage multiple service lines, I wish there was a way to generate reports that break down billable hours by service and customer. The reporting works, but it doesn’t allow for much customization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"It's made accounting easier for me."
What do you like best about FreshBooks?

Since I started using FreshBooks to help me keep my accounting more organized, but above all, to improve my performance in billing and expenses, I've felt more streamlined with my processes. It helps me make the most of my time by having this platform that enters the data and does most of the work automatically, without having to go through multiple steps in a process. It's made accounting less boring, with more precise organization of all the numbers, allowing me to keep track of expenses and always have accurate accounts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about FreshBooks?

FreshBooks works on any device, but I've noticed that I can't perform the same operations efficiently on my cell phone because the tools aren't the same for me. I feel it's more of a personal issue than the app itself, because it's a matter of habit, but I haven't been able to adapt to the mobile app. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy to use project expense and invoicing"
What do you like best about FreshBooks?

Fresh books allows me to keep track of multiple clients with multiple projects each in a clean and organized manner. It's easy to create and send invoices for each project. The timekeeping function is so helpful because it keeps track of my time spent on each project and then enters the billable time directly on an invoice. I don't have to do any calculating. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about FreshBooks?

FreshBooks doesn't recognize the expenses I add manually so when it syncs to my bank I have to go through and delete expenses it imports because I've already entered them manually. Otherwise I get confused by duplicate expenses and the accounting gets very messed up. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Very Simple invoice and accounting for small teams"
What do you like best about FreshBooks?

It keeps invoicing really simple, I love how easy it makes to create and send invoices in really less time, also the clients find it really easy to understand and pay. Time tracking feature is amazing, as it can log hours directly into projects and link them to invoice at ease. It is very easy to use and people with any background can use it without having any accounting background. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about FreshBooks?

It has limited reporting options for example if you want some advanced options, or breakdown or about taxes, it takes extra efforts, also to make it sync with external payment gateways is slow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Perfect for Beginners – A Smooth Start to Accounting"
What do you like best about FreshBooks?

Very easy to understand and use—even if you don’t have an accounting background.

Invoicing is quick, professional-looking, and can be customized.

Helps track time and expenses efficiently, which is helpful when working on multiple small projects.

Good mobile app for on-the-go usage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about FreshBooks?

Limited number of clients on the basic plan.

Some advanced accounting features are missing, so it’s not ideal for complex bookkeeping.

Reporting options are basic if you're trying to do deeper financial analysis. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A Great Fit for Freelancers and Small Businesses – Smooth Invoicing & Expense Tracking"
What do you like best about FreshBooks?

FreshBooks is incredibly user-friendly — perfect for those without an accounting background. The invoicing system is clean and customizable, with options to automate recurring invoices and send reminders for overdue payments. The mobile app is powerful, making it easy to upload receipts, track time, or check reports on the go. The integration with payment gateways like Stripe and PayPal helps me get paid faster. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about FreshBooks?

While it covers the basics well, FreshBooks lacks depth in accounting reports and isn't ideal for inventory-heavy businesses. Also, pricing can add up quickly if you need more users or advanced features. I wish the reporting section had more customization or detailed breakdowns. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Super great once you know the hacks"
What do you like best about FreshBooks?

Somewhat intuititive, built for small business. Time tracking and expenses that pull into invoices. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about FreshBooks?

Petty Cash as a concept. The onboarding. The channel partnerships team that DIDNT suggest Kate Josephine Johnson (she is the only reason I've been able to use this succsesfully), that there was not a better onboarding/implementation support process.

That if you take a pciture of a receipt when you have it it will always create a duplicate expense that you have to copy/paste/move later. The matching for Quickbooks is far superior. I've started losing receipts or having dupes. Neither is good. Also the email address for submitting receipts is clunky/bad.

That Clients/Vendors aren't the same thing. That Bills don't integrate.

That there's no way to carry a balance that rolls over on invoices.

The app is a fraction of the functionality of quickbooks' app.

Your prices are almost the same as quickbooks but the application is not really as good. I like the time tracking much better though so I'm sticking with you for a while. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy, Reliable & Perfect for Small Businesses"
What do you like best about FreshBooks?

I recently started using FreshBooks, and so far it's been a smooth and convenient experience. It’s especially helpful for tracking invoices and managing credit card payments. The interface is clean, and it's very beginner-friendly—even if you don’t have a strong accounting background. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about FreshBooks?

One area where I feel FreshBooks could improve is by offering more flexibility with payment platforms and integrations. Expanding options there would make it even more powerful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simple, Efficient, and Perfect for Small Businesses"
What do you like best about FreshBooks?

The invoicing feature is excellent. It takes just minutes to create professional-looking invoices and send automated payment reminders.

• Time tracking and project-based billing are smooth and easy to integrate with client work.

• I love the expense tracking with receipt scanning — it saves so much time during tax season.

• The mobile app is surprisingly powerful and lets me manage almost everything on the go. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about FreshBooks?

Limited customization on financial reports. If you need in-depth reporting or forecasting, you may find FreshBooks lacking.

• It’s a bit pricey compared to alternatives, especially if you manage multiple clients or need multiple users.

• Inventory management is minimal — not suitable for product-heavy businesses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
