"Coding feels greate with IntelliJ IDEA"
What do you like best about IntelliJ IDEA?

What I like the most about IntelliJ is how intelligent it actually is. The code suggestions and auto-completion feel s amazing. It detects issues in real time, gives quick-fix options, and helps me write cleaner, more consistent code. I also love the integrated Git tools, I can commit, push, or view diffs without leaving the ide. Another big plus is how well it handles frameworks like spring boot and languages like kotlin or javascript everything works seamlessly out of the box. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IntelliJ IDEA?

The only downside for me is how heavy it can be. On a mid-range laptop, it sometimes slows down when working on large projects, especially during indexing. I also think the pricing could be more accessible for individual developers or small freelancers. Apart from that, it’s a powerful but resource-hungry ide. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best IDE for SDETs or Automation testing"
What do you like best about IntelliJ IDEA?

I’ve been using IntelliJ IDEA for my Java and RestAssured automation work, and it has really boosted my productivity. The interface feels clean, intuitive, and packed with features that make coding smoother. I particularly like the powerful code suggestions and debugging tools—finding and fixing issues has become much faster. RestAssured integration works seamlessly, and IntelliJ’s smart autocomplete saves a lot of time when writing test scripts.

The ability to manage dependencies through Maven/Gradle is another highlight, and built-in test runners make it easy to execute and analyze results. Overall, IntelliJ feels like a complete package for someone working heavily with Java and APIs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IntelliJ IDEA?

It can be resource-heavy at times, especially on lower-spec machines. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"IntelliJ IDEA: User-Friendly with Great Features, but Occasional Lag"
What do you like best about IntelliJ IDEA?

What I appreciate most about IntelliJ IDEA is how user-friendly it is, making product development straightforward. I also find it very convenient that it allows direct integration with databases, which streamlines my workflow. Additionally, I really like the hot reload feature, as it saves users from having to run or debug the entire codebase. This can be a significant time-saver, especially when compiling multiple classes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IntelliJ IDEA?

The things i dont like in IntelliJ IDEA is that it some times lags while updating the code in a file. For example if there is an error it indicates but if corrected it may take few seconds for to get updated Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Boosts productivity for Python & embedded projects."
What do you like best about IntelliJ IDEA?

IntelliJ IDEA has been instrumental in boosting my productivity as a B.Tech ECE student working on Python, AI, and embedded systems projects. The smart code completion is exceptionally accurate and context-aware, often predicting exactly what I need to write next. The extensive plugin ecosystem allows me to customize the IDE for different workflows, from Python development with scientific libraries to embedded C/C++ programming. The integrated debugging tools are powerful and intuitive, making it much easier to track down issues in complex codebases. The built-in version control integration streamlines my Git workflows, and the code refactoring capabilities help maintain clean, maintainable code across projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IntelliJ IDEA?

The main drawback I've encountered is the significant resource consumption, particularly RAM usage which can be demanding on mid-range laptops. During large project loads, the initial indexing process can take considerable time and occasionally causes lag, which interrupts the workflow. The IDE can feel sluggish when working with multiple projects simultaneously or when plugins are heavily utilized. Additionally, the learning curve for some advanced features is steep, and the sheer number of configuration options can be overwhelming for newcomers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IntelliJ IDEA?

The thing is you need to have decent machine with decent ram to run this, if Incase you are a beginner you may need to have solid compute and memory if you're into developing large application, also it's not very well suited for python or other language development but it supports them but i won't recommend to start any non java development here Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about IntelliJ IDEA?

I have been using IntelliJ IDEA for the last 2 years, primarily for software development. Remembering APIs and fixing errors can be cumbersome, but IntelliJ IDEA alleviates these issues by providing smart suggestions, which significantly streamlines the coding process. Additionally, the code completion feature is excellent and highly contextual, enhancing the efficiency and productivity of my development work. These features make IntelliJ IDEA a key asset in my software development toolkit. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A rock-solid IDE that keeps getting smarter"
What do you like best about IntelliJ IDEA?

IntelliJ feels like it’s one step ahead of me. Code completion is freakishly accurate, the refactoring tools save hours every week, and the integrated Git workflow is smooth enough that I rarely touch the command line. I also love the small touches—quick documentation pop-ups, live templates, and the way it quietly suggests better code without being intrusive. It’s one of the few tools that actually makes me a faster, cleaner coder. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IntelliJ IDEA?

It’s heavy. On a big project the memory footprint can creep up, and the startup time isn’t exactly snappy. Some of the advanced settings are buried in menus, so it can take a while to track down that one checkbox you need. I’ve also had the occasional hiccup with plugins after major updates.
