"Ending manual drudgery and boosting throughput"
What do you like best about JAMS?

I find it very nice the way JAMS Enterprise Job Scheduler can manage multiple systems with complex dependencies chains. It has helped make it much easier to coordinate our nightly imports of financial data across a number of legacy applications. The fact that it is simple to subscribe to notices about job failures has likewise kept many late night emergency calls at bay. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JAMS?

The main functionality is solid, but the user interface in crafting custom scripts within the jobs is a bit old-fashioned and less user-friendly than I would like it to be. More easily accessible pre-built patterns of integration with cloud services would be helpful as well. A bit of treasure hunt Sometimes it seems like treasure hunt to find the exact log of a particular historical run. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"JAMS Scheduler – A Game Changer for Our Team"
What do you like best about JAMS?

We’ve been using JAMS Scheduler for a while now, and it’s made a huge difference in how we handle our job scheduling and automation. What used to be a mess of scripts and manual processes is now streamlined, reliable, and easy to manage.

The interface is intuitive, and I love how we can manage jobs across different systems (JDE, Windows, Linux, SQL, etc.) all from one place. Setting up schedules and dependencies is straightforward, and we’ve been able to automate a lot of tasks that used to take up too much time.

One of the standout features is the alerting and error handling—it’s saved us more than once by catching issues before they become big problems. Plus, their support team is top-notch. Anytime we’ve had a question or needed help with setup, they’ve been quick and super helpful.

Overall, JAMS has saved us time, reduced errors, and given us peace of mind. If you're looking for a solid scheduling solution, I highly recommend giving it a try. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JAMS?

The only thing I dislike is that I didn't find it sooner! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Our operations became transparent and JAMS illuminated forgotten dependencies"
What do you like best about JAMS?

We really like the fact that JAMS Enterprise Job Scheduler has the capability of dynamically adjusting our various server loads when we run simulations at peak times. It also schedules job execution wisely along real time resource availability without bottlenecks. Its extremely fine grained conditional logic also means our scientific workflows donot proceed to the next step before all the given data validation steps have passed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JAMS?

To initially write the JAMS code to map what we are currently doing today in our manual scientific workflow was a considerable up-front investment in time. The systematic planning to translate each piece of exclusive data dependency and interaction with the system was challenging. We also discovered that that the job structure was highly nested, and could be better visualized in the monitoring dashboard. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Unraveling legacy script spaghetti thanks to JAMS' clear, auditable workflows"
What do you like best about JAMS?

JAMS has its head in the clouds when it comes to the sheer number of different types of execute it can do natively and this saves us when it comes to our mixed environment. We can easily deal with python scripts in Linux servers, SQL jobs, and even some of the legacy VB processes, all of them occurring on top of a single console. We also do not spend a lot of setup time as our business grows as we are able to easily copy and edit the existing job templates to suit new needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JAMS?

Albeit functional, the default reporting interface could be improved to feature more modern visualization options that would give fast insights on operations. The problem is that onboarding new administrators also needs a much steeper learning curve than expected, with the commands more customizable settings and powerful nuances. Getting exceedingly precise event triggers in place using some newer cloud services can occasionally be a few steps more than we would like. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful Automation and Integration, But Steep Learning Curve"
What do you like best about JAMS?

JAMS provides support for various execution methods and integrates well with third-party tools. It also delivers strong automation features and high availability capabilities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JAMS?

JAMS is not very intuitive and demands a considerable level of expertise to use effectively. Each time you upgrade to a new version, there are additional things to learn, which can make the process more challenging. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Our complex data loads just run themselves"
What do you like best about JAMS?

I appreciate a lot the powerful cross-platform scheduling. We do run jobs both on Window and Linux servers and JAMS runs it without any trouble. The triggers by events are superb as well. Our down stream processes now automatically commence receipt of an up stream file. And the elaborate logging and auditing mean it is easy to diagnose the problem when a misfortune occurs. It makes us have a clear history of any job run. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JAMS?

The user interface is slightly old fashioned at least. It is not always easy to go through some of the menus, especially the ones that date a few years back. The initial adjustment process was associated with setting up very complicated multi-step jobs. It is more powerful yet the advance features have an evident learning curve. A smoother transition of new users is excellent. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Reliable scheduling that supports teamwork"
What do you like best about JAMS?

The first thing that I like about JAMS is the way it defines the flow of activities to leave nothing behind. It enables it to ensure that every planned job is kept in line with others and hence we do not end up causing trip arounds. The presence of a system to give clear visualization of job sequences would enable me to plan resources and staff in a better way without assuming all the time. This clarifies decreases stress in busy time and keeps the entire team on one page. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JAMS?

The problem of JAMS is that its configuration may seem quite constrained when it is required to rearrange workflows dynamically. Occasionally we find it difficult to tollerate last minute adjustments or the occurrence of very unusual sequence, which compel us to handle them manually, and hence, delayed our operations. This shortcoming implies that sometimes we fail to adapt fast in the case of emergency scenarios. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Our complex server tasks run themselves, JAMS really delivers"
What do you like best about JAMS?

The fact that JAMS has a wide multi platform support is quite impressive. We are able to easily script and also execute jobs in such platforms as Windows Linux and even IBM i systems all through one interface. Such centralized control reduces the complexity of our IT system tremendously. Its sophisticated dependency management is also a massive advantage that makes jobs run only after their needs are taken care of. This could be as in the case where a financial report can only run when the complete data imports are done. On top of the detail audit trails, they are excellent on compliance and trouble shooting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JAMS?

Its UI may seem to be quite intimidating to new users at times. It possesses numerous options and it requires some practice to work around. Constructing highly complicated job flows may necessitate a steeped learning curve at the beginning. The reporting customization can also be made more flexible out of the box. There are instances when we require exporting data in order to come up with certain performance reports. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Batch jobs just run themselves"
What do you like best about JAMS?

JAMS is there when you have to monitor work on Windows, Linux, or whatever cloud services you prefer. You can trigger automated workflows immediately, when working with new files, or any other regular task. Monitoring and alerts inform you of what should happen first so that you can be certain that the rest remains smooth. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JAMS?

The system is sometimes a pain to install and configure, particularly in large ones. Well, the user interface serves the purpose, yet it is clearly showing its age and could indeed use some serious ease of use on entry level. The sophisticated material requires at least some experience or preferably training to take in most of it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Managing workflows across different systems is now super smooth"
What do you like best about JAMS?

I really like JAMS because it ensures all our batch jobs are organised and run on time without us needing to watch over them. We link it up to our databases and file transfer systems, so the process is carried out step by step. It allows us to avoid keeping track of things ourselves and avoid skipping important parts. It is useful to me that it notifies us right away when there is an issue, allowing us to solve problems fast. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JAMS?

It could be simpler to manage job flow since it’s easy to miss out on dependencies when there are many steps. Because of this confusion, our team has faced some issues and fixing them means we cannot focus on other jobs. Making this area more visible would make our work much easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
