"Future-proof, flexible shop system for B2C and B2B"
What do you like best about Shopware?

What we particularly appreciate about Shopware 6 is the clear structure and modular design of the platform. These features offer us great flexibility to make individual customizations. The integration of plugins is very simple, with many extensions specifically tailored to the needs of the German market, such as regarding GDPR, legal texts, or payment providers. Particularly noteworthy is the user-friendliness in the backend: the navigation is clearly structured, and the drag-and-drop editor makes it easy for us to efficiently create and manage products, landing pages, and orders. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Shopware?

Occasionally, Shopware's marketing is ahead of development, so new features are not fully mature at the beginning. However, these minor flaws are usually quickly fixed through updates. Another point of criticism is that some basic functions are only offered as paid plugins. Additionally, updates in more complex setups with numerous extensions mean increased effort. "Powerful, flexible, and future-proof"
What do you like best about Shopware?

Shopware impresses with its enormous flexibility and user-friendliness. The system can be used for both smaller shops and complex enterprise solutions. I particularly appreciate the intuitive user interface, the modular structure, as well as the many integrations and plugins that integrate seamlessly. The open API architecture also allows for individual customizations without limits. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Shopware?

So far, I have hardly any points of criticism. Smaller details, such as occasionally longer loading times in the backend with very large catalogs, could be optimized – but compared to the advantages, this is absolutely tolerable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Flexible e-commerce solution for demanding projects in both B2C and B2B sectors"
What do you like best about Shopware?

Shopware can be perfectly adapted to your own needs with the help of custom or purchased themes and plugins. The system is continuously developed with the latest technologies and has a large community in Germany. In addition, Shopware always strives to be a pioneer in e-commerce and offers suitable solutions for both shop owners and end customers.

I find Shopware to be very intuitive and user-friendly, even for experienced users. The backend navigation is clear, and the drag-and-drop editor makes it easy to create and manage products, landing pages, and orders efficiently. Implementing Shopware was very fast for me—often possible within just a few hours. There is a wide range of ready-made plugins, and many features are already included in the standard version. This allowed me to launch and further develop professional online shops without extensive technical overhead.

I also appreciate the reliable and competent customer support, especially when working with experienced Shopware agencies. Support from third-party providers has also been good to very good in my experience. I use Shopware daily to manage products, process orders, and analyze customer data. The system is an integral part of my day-to-day business, both for B2C and B2B, and it works well for companies of all sizes.

Shopware offers a wide range of features, both in the standard version and through numerous plugins. I particularly value the marketing tools, analytics, voucher and discount functions, and flexible product management. The system is highly customizable and can be extended with additional modules as needed. Integrating Shopware with other systems has generally been straightforward for me. There are many interfaces to common ERP and accounting systems, as well as to marketplaces and payment providers. The open architecture and API-based ecosystem of Shopware 6 make it easy to connect third-party solutions and build a tailored system landscape. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Shopware?

Sometimes, Shopware’s marketing is faster than its development. As a result, features may lack the final polish needed for productive use. However, this is usually addressed with the corresponding updates.

Some basic features are only available as paid plugins, which I find a bit frustrating. While the system is very flexible, more advanced customizations often require additional development effort or technical knowledge.

Although the usability is generally very good, some areas—especially for more complex requirements—can be less intuitive and may require some training or experience. Updates can sometimes be challenging, as they often require significant adjustments, especially when many plugins are involved. Additionally, the cost structure for the more advanced versions can be a hurdle for smaller companies. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Flexible shop system with a strong API – the perfect foundation for our SaaS model"
What do you like best about Shopware?

Shopware 6 stands out for its high flexibility and modern architecture. As the foundation for our SaaS solution in the pharmacy and healthcare sector, it enables us to manage multiple tenants efficiently. The clear API-first approach and headless capabilities were key to seamlessly integrating with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. The Rule Builder is particularly helpful, allowing us to easily implement custom business logic. The CMS ("Experience Worlds") is also intuitive and offers great freedom in frontend design.

A major advantage compared to other systems is the ease of customization: we can flexibly implement specific requirements of the pharmacy and healthcare market – such as legal compliance, custom checkout processes, or multi-tier pricing structures. This level of adaptability is essential for operating in such a highly regulated environment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Shopware?

The plugin ecosystem is smaller compared to other platforms (e.g. Shopify), especially when it comes to B2B-specific extensions. Some updates can cause incompatibilities with existing plugins, which adds extra testing effort in productive multi-tenant setups. However, in our case, the high degree of customizability more than compensates for this limitation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Pegasus Spiele — one of Europe’s most successful board game publisher — relies on Shopware 6"
What do you like best about Shopware?

What I like most about Shopware is its flexibility and ease of use. The platform can be tailored to fit individual business needs, whether through custom extensions or the wide range of available plugins. I especially appreciate the modern and intuitive interface, which makes it easy to work productively even without deep technical knowledge.

Another strong point is the active community and excellent documentation, which provide quick solutions and inspiration. Shopware is also highly scalable, making it suitable for both small shops and large, complex e-commerce projects. Overall, it combines technical reliability, adaptability, and user-friendliness in a very effective way. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Shopware?

One of the downsides of Shopware is that while it offers great flexibility, some advanced customizations can require significant technical expertise. This means smaller teams without dedicated developers might find certain adjustments more difficult or time-consuming.

Additionally, the ecosystem of plugins and extensions, although extensive, can vary in quality, and ensuring compatibility between different modules sometimes adds extra effort. Updates and upgrades can also require careful testing to avoid conflicts.

Overall, the challenges are mostly related to complexity at scale, but they are manageable with proper planning and resources. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Reliable e-commerce platform with great flexibility"
What do you like best about Shopware?

We have been using Shopware for over ten years and are still satisfied with the platform. We particularly like the ability to individually expand our shop and adapt it to our needs with the help of the comprehensive plugin offerings – all without much effort via the plugin store. The user-friendly management in the backend also makes our daily work easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Shopware?

The updates are partially tedious, especially with more complex setups with many extensions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Shopware - Intuitive e-commerce solution with easy integration"
What do you like best about Shopware?

We have been using Shopware for some time now and are thoroughly impressed with the user-friendliness and well-thought-out structure of the platform. The interface is clearly and modernly designed, allowing users without deep technical knowledge to work quickly and efficiently with it. Particularly noteworthy is the intuitive backend, which enables easy management of products, orders, and content.

Another major advantage is the straightforward integration with existing systems and extensions. Thanks to the well-documented API and a wide selection of plugins, Shopware can be seamlessly integrated into almost any system landscape - whether ERP, payment providers, or inventory management. The installation runs smoothly, and many processes can be automated, saving a tremendous amount of time in everyday life. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Shopware?

Even though the user interface of Shopware is designed to be very intuitive, the extensive range of features, especially in the higher editions, can initially seem a bit overwhelming for newcomers. There are many settings, modules, and configuration options that require some time to get familiar with at first. However, this point quickly becomes less significant, as Shopware offers very good documentation and an active community that provides quick assistance with questions. With a bit of patience and curiosity, one can navigate it well – and benefit in the long term from the system's enormous flexibility. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"10 years of Shopware and still satisfied"
What do you like best about Shopware?

Shopware is a system that offers a great deal of freedom. The plugin world is vast, and if something is missing, a good agency can certainly create a custom solution. Furthermore, we greatly appreciate the German support from Shopware, which really makes the greatest effort to find suitable solutions together with the customer. The staff are not only very professional but above all very customer-oriented.

Thus, we have once again decided on a major relaunch for Shopware. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Shopware?

As with any other software, with Shopware it ultimately depends on how good the agency is that sets up and manages Shopware. And unfortunately, you can also make a big mistake. Shopware is certainly striving to offer support in finding an agency, yet it is almost impossible for the customer to assess in advance how good an agency actually is. Here, I would wish for even greater quality control from Shopware itself. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful, future-proof shop system with a strong B2B focus"
What do you like best about Shopware?

Technically, Shopware 6 is very well positioned: The platform is clearly structured, modularly built, and offers high flexibility for individual customizations. Plugins can be quickly integrated, many of which are tailored directly to the requirements of the German market (GDPR, legal texts, payment providers, etc.). The user-friendliness in the backend is a big plus point – both for developers and the content team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Shopware?

The transition from Shopware 5 to 6 was challenging: Some features that were standard in Shopware 5 are only available in 6 through third-party plugins or were not fully adopted (at least initially). This made the migration process more complex. However, much has happened since then – particularly the B2B functionalities in Shopware Evolve are strong and are rapidly evolving. We plan to expand even more here in the future. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A very easy start"
What do you like best about Shopware?

It's easy to setup and get started.

Integrating third-party apps is easy, there are lot in the store. if it's missing you can always use API to get going.

Shopware Support is very good, they take the time to read the problems and will guide you through the problems.

SW Analytics give me a good overview of what is happening on my store.

A big benefit is how everything comes together, rule builder, flow builder and dynamic access makes in- or exclusion of customers and customer groups easy.

We use it to target specific customer with certain goods, this is noticeable in our conversion rate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Shopware?

Sometimes, updating a mayor version can be a pain.

The software offers you to deactivate all apps only to struggle with the theme.

This is however easy to solve, with some clicks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
