"Streamlining Test Management with TestRail"
What do you like best about TestRail?

What I like best about TestRail is its highly structured and organized approach to managing test cases and test runs. It allows QA teams to easily create, categorize, and track test cases within a clear hierarchy, making large test repositories manageable and transparent. The dashboards and reporting tools provide real-time visibility into testing progress, helping leads and managers identify gaps, monitor coverage, and make data-driven release decisions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TestRail?

It can feel slow or clunky, especially when you’re working with large test suites, many configurations, or many concurrent users.

The user interface and navigation sometimes receive criticism for being less intuitive or “old-school,” making onboarding or day-to-day tweaks more cumbersome. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Solid Test Case Management"
What do you like best about TestRail?

The bulk test run feature literally saved my sanity during our last release. Had to execute the same 500 tests across 8 different device configs - TestRail let me clone and assign them in like 10 minutes. Would've been copying Excel sheets all day otherwise.

Also their API doesn't suck? Shocking, I know. Got our pytest results flowing into TestRail with maybe 50 lines of code. Now when tests fail, the whole team sees it instantly instead of me sending sad Slack messages at midnight. The dashboard screenshots in standup shut down so many "what's the test status?" questions. Worth every penny just for that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TestRail?

The UI looks like it's from 2010 and runs like it too. Loading our test suite (8k cases) is painful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Reliable Test Management with Useful Integrations"
What do you like best about TestRail?

Centralized Test Management: "I like how TestRail keeps all test cases, test runs, and results organized in one place."

Easy Test Planning & Execution: "It makes planning, executing, and tracking test cases straightforward and efficient."

Customizable: "I appreciate the ability to customize test cases, fields, and workflows to fit our QA process."

Reporting & Analytics: "The built-in reports and dashboards give clear insights into test coverage and progress."

Integration-Friendly: "It integrates well with Jira, which helps link defects and maintain traceability." Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TestRail?

It can take some time to get used to all the features and navigation, especially for new users.Occasionally it feels slow when handling large test suites or lots of test runs. While it tracks tests well, automating repetitive tasks could be improved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"TestRail in Practice: A Reliable Tool for Structured QA Management"
What do you like best about TestRail?

The most appealing aspect of TestRail for me is its methodical and well-structured approach to test case management. Using sections, sub-sections, and folders, TestRail facilitates the hierarchical organization of test cases, which is particularly useful for large, intricate projects. It doesn't feel like there are hundreds of cases. Reusing test cases across many configurations and runs helps cut down on duplication and save time. Regression testing cycles and parallel testing in various scenarios benefit greatly from it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TestRail?

What I dislike about TestRail is that it can get slow when handling a lot of test cases, test runs, or users. Particularly when working with lengthy test suites or run histories, page load times become slower. TestRail's collaboration is comparatively static in contrast to more contemporary solutions that facilitate real-time collaboration (such as Google Docs or Notion-style commenting). Although you can post comments, it is devoid of capabilities that would be useful in hectic testing situations, such as the ability to tag team members or engage in real-time discussion. "Reliable Test Case Management Tool for Agile Teams"
What do you like best about TestRail?

What I like best about TestRail is its intuitive interface and structured approach to test case management. It allows you to easily organize test suites, test cases, and test runs in a way that’s clean and scalable. The ability to tag, filter, and reuse test cases saves a lot of time during regression cycles. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TestRail?

While TestRail is a powerful tool, there are a few areas where it could improve.

The user management and permissions system can be a bit rigid — customizing access levels for large teams or different roles isn’t as flexible as we’d like. Also, bulk editing or moving of test cases across projects can be time-consuming, especially in large test suites. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Aggressive Collections and Unresponsive Support — Be Very Careful"
What do you like best about TestRail?

The service itself was overall ok to do the testing tasks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TestRail?

We had an incredibly disappointing experience with TestRail — not only because of their unresponsive customer service, but also due to the aggressive, borderline threatening behavior we encountered when trying to resolve a billing issue.

It all started when we simply needed to change the billing information on our account. This should have been an easy task. Instead, we spent a full month in back-and-forth communication with their support team, who failed to provide us with a correct invoice or resolve the issue.

When our license expired and we still hadn’t received a valid invoice, we decided to switch to another service. That’s when the situation escalated in the worst possible way.

Instead of helping, TestRail began flooding us with emails, and eventually transferred the case to a collection department. At that point, we were essentially threatened. I clearly explained the situation to the collection agents — that we had never received the correct invoice and had tried repeatedly to solve this.

I thought that the case was closed. But it was only the beginning.

In a month I had another message from the TestRail support:

“We truly want to find a resolution here. Please provide these supporting documents so we can properly review the situation and work towards a solution. If these documents cannot be provided, or if the invoice (XX, for $XX,XXX.XX USD) remains unpaid by Month Day, Year, we will, as stated in our previous email, have to proceed with collections, which may negatively affect your company’s credit standing.”

This response is not only tone-deaf, but deeply offensive and inappropriate. We were blackmailed over an invoice that was never properly generated, despite a month of communication efforts from our side.

Final verdict:

• ❌ Support is slow and unhelpful

• ❌ Billing is broken and disorganized

• ❌ Collections are aggressive and unprofessional

I strongly recommend looking elsewhere for a test management solution. Companies deserve respectful and competent treatment — especially when paying thousands of dollars. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
