Thankful Thanksgiving (T)

Thankful for Thanksgiving and getting together with family!

I've got a mix of colors going on here.  I was attracted to the shiny pumpkins at Home Goods this year and for the "thankful" one by Martha Stewart. The pink and blue challenged me!

I used this pink stemware to match with the pink pumpkin.  These were from Horchow called Harper (I can't find them anywhere).

You'll notice that the blue feathers go with the blue tablecloth that I found at Home Goods.  These are the Plymouth dinner and salad plates from Williams-Sonoma.

I chose this vase because it has the same glistening vibe that the pumpkins have.  It's actually a blend of silver and gold.

I ordered these pink Luminara candles which I can use for various other tablescapes. The candlesticks/holders are from World Market.  The table runner is from Home Goods.

I chose these wreaths but intended for them to be  like candle rings.  I like the festive look with the glitter on the tips.

I had to intermingle my traditional fall colors of golds and warm earth tones with the pink and blue.  I didn't want to go out and buy more accessories so I used what I had.

I believe we will be able to serve with smaller dishes and pass them along or we'll serve buffet style from the kitchen.  There will actually only be 4 attending but I like to see the table set for more!

I am happy with the blend of colors.  I was pretty iffy that this would work but I think it's fine.

Thanks for viewing my Thankful Thanksgiving tablescape!

Wintry February Tablescape (T)

Winter greetings!
I clustered a bouquet of mums into na artichoke tulipiere vase.
Theoretically I should have used smaller flowers but it turned out kind of fun.

You can see the layers of the tulipiere

This is top but the holes are so small I couldn't get the stems to poke in them.

The crystal with ice and water represent the outside weather.  I kept things cool with lots of white and the stainless flatware. (glasses are called  Trellis by Fitz & Floyd)

The white mums are like a snowy foundation highlighted with a rich palette of colors.  I love how the dishes pick up on them.

These are by Pottery Barn with no name (from a few years ago).

I chose antique pewter accented flatware and napkin rings, white napkins, white chargers and  white dinner plates.  Keeping it cool!

These two metal patterns always go together nicely!

Williams Sonoma tablecloth called Vintage Floral Jacquard, a real favorite of mine!

I love these colors and their texture.  I hope the green ones will open up too!  I've had them home since Sunday.

As you can see we are still snowy here and expecting more!

I'll just stare at these instead!

St. Patrick's Day Dining (T)

Happy  St. Patrick's Day to all!

Each year I try to do something different for my St. Patrick's Day tablescape.  So I've assembled pieces I've used in the past and some I haven't!  I've got Shamrock's, Gold Coins and Leprechaun hats!  That should bring some good luck to us!

There are shamrock's all over the white overlay.

Underneath is a paisley print blue and white tablecloth.

I brought in a bit more blue with the dinner plate plus some lavender to go with the flowers and cabbage plates because it's for St. Patrick's Day!  Corned beef and cabbage, I do love that!

I also used my cabbage placemats with a green and white patterned napkin to complete my
St. Patrick's Day table!

Speaking of the flowers!  I created a free form arrangment with lilies, mums, carnations and filler pieces.  Costo $14.99 can't go wrong!

My Thanksgiving Cactus is in full bloom as seen here in the background.

Wishing you a Blessed and Happy St. Patricks's day!

Tropical Spring Tablescape (T)

Let's jump continents to enjoy a Tropical Spring Tablescape!

These flowers had all the right colors for my tablescpape and I decided to incorporate elephants in with it too!  The dishes, tablecloth and napkins all had a touch of orange.  The vase  is an elephant!

These elephant plates are from World Market a couple of years ago.

I used green stemware and coffee mugs to go with the salad plates.

The flatware is decorated with antiqued silver finish so I used some antique silver napking rings to go along with them. The chargers are from Pier 1, and the dinner plates were a find at Cracker Barrel a long time ago.  The reminded me of the Thread and Berry plates by Juliska so I grabbed them up.  They have no identification on them.  The coffee mugs are from Park Designs, from the Old World Collection.  Green stemware was from One King's Lane many years back.

There were hydrangeas in the floral bouquet but they didn't last long.
Carnations, Alstroemeria, Football Mums, Oriental Lilies and Stock

I hope you enjoyed my Tropical Spring Tablescape!

Still enjoying the amaryllis!
I sure have enjoyed growing the amaryllis this winter season.
It gave me fresh flowers and added color!  They don't have to be just for Christmas!
Now I'll be waiting to see some daffodils and tulips!

Valentine's Dining With Friends (T)

Hello, join me as I've set the table for Dan and I and a couple of friends for Valentine's Day
(a bit early).

Romantic flowers center the table with my mother's fine china place settings.

There are snap dragons, though they haven't opened up much yet, beautiful pink roses and soft lilac colored mums.

I used the candle votives I got from Nell Hill's back when she had an on-line account.  A touch of purple from the candles picks up on the purple flowers and some purple in the dishes.

Some Sea Holly

Time for dinner!
