Creating Vignettes

Starting with the kitchen area I played around with some items that I already had here but used them in different spots and added the blue vase and the verdigris water can which I  picked up late last summer from Home Goods.

The Fleurs tray was down below before and could hardly be seen so I tried making a vignette related to flowers.  The rooster is just there because he's white!

It's a real watering can and I was enamored with it but it took until now for me to decide how to use it.

My husband bought this blue vase for me from Terrain which we got to visit while in Pennsylvania.

Down below I moved my copper items.

I tried a whole new look on the mantel.  I'm still deciding if I like it but everything coordinates nicely.

This is a new planter I got for Christmas.  I set the arrangement (that previousy has been in front of the picture) down inside and it fit.

You can see the floral arrangement i'm talking about.

This was ordered from The Enchanted Home.  I always buy my stuff from them when there is a sale.

This vase was my moms and she bought it while visiting me in Chicago when I lived there (1978-79).  I think it's Japanese but I'm not positive.

 This is the bottom.

And finally I created this vignette with the bulk of my blue and white porcelain.

These three Chinese men referred to as Elegant Sitting Emporers are new and also came from The Enchanted Home.

A side view.  I like how they are sitting on a garden seat.

This blue plate is also from my Mom's and was a gift I gave her from Marshall Fields when I lived in Chicago.  The big jar I bought and is one of my favorites.

This plate was also Mom's and mixes well with my porcelain pieces.

 So that's it for now!
I hope you liked my Vignettes!

Thanksgiving Wine Bar & Dining Table

I was clearing off all the Halloween deco and while figuring out what I was going to do it suddenly struck me to make a wine bar.  Our kids are coming this weekend and they appreciate wine so I decided to expand on that idea.

Down below in this cabinet is a wine rack so I just selected some and brought them up above.  I staged some wine glasses, cork screw, wine coaster, candles and a turkey!

My white roses from my last tablescape are still holding on.

They've held up beautifully!

I placed wreath above the sconces which was a first for me.  I like how this looks!

I had a little Thankful sign I added too!  We're having our Thanksgiving early since the kids are visiting.

I brought in the lanterns from my Fall and Halloween  display outdoors.

I placed a small turkey on the candlestick.

Over by the front door I created a couple of vignettes.  I've had this MacKenzie Childs turkey for several years and decided to incorporate it into this setting.

This is a maintenance free dog!

I decided to add fall deco to this chest of drawers and keep the blue pieces in place.

I snuck in a small Pilgrim turkey!

I had bought this to go on a wreath but this year I decided I would add it to this mirror and I like it!

A small vignette on the dining table.  I continued my usage of the sunflowers and pumpkins but added my pheasants and Pilgrims.

I'm a traditionalist and love to celebrate the seasons as they come!  I hope you enjoyed my Thanksgiving presentation!

Christmas 2017 Living Room Cont'd

Welcome back- here is the other side of the living room.

I clustered six bottle brush trees together in this oval wood bowl adorned with two elk heads.  I pushed them together so the branches would help them stay clustered and added some snow to the bottom.

I found this little bear on an after Christmas sale last year and the poinsettia dish is a few years old from Hobby Lobby.

The long wood top that divides the living room has been set up with a Woodland Enchantment vignette.

I like Santas of all kind but I think my favorite are the old world saints like this one.

The reindeer got a little paint job to add a some warmth to their color and I dressed them up a bit with a black velvet ribbon and the gold cords I had used before.  You've seen the same tree before with the gold poinsettia leaves but I also added some of my gold ornaments this year.

The sleigh was dressed up with florals and pine cones.  I sprinkle faux snow here and there to the add to the enchantment.

The big golden antlers are once again used and clustered with little evergreen branches, pine cones and more faux snow.  The ornament to the rear is a nativity with three wise men on the other.

I used two small black lanterns from my little stash of lanterns to add some more light to the vignette.

I'll show a night time picture soon.

I set a place for my little nativity set.

The wreath worked out nicely as a base.

Pre-maid wreath from Pier 1 last year.

Silent night, holy night...

Thank you for visiting- I have more to show and I hope you'll come back!
