Henrique Oliveira, was born in Porto, Portugal and is the director, screenwriter and producer of HOP! Films.
From a young age, Henrique Oliveira has always expressed a multidisciplinary vocation regarding to artistic creation and developing his talents in areas as diverse as cinema, music, design and screenwriting.
He is the guitarist, songwriter and lyricist of the rock group TAXI and has recorded with his group their first album of originals in 1981, entitled TAXI (1st gold record of "Portuguese rock"). In the next four years they record three more albums (Cairo 1982, Salutz 1983 and The Night 1985) and a single (Sozinho 1984).
At the same time, he develops comic projects, as a screenwriter and designer.
His passion for cinema led him in 1987 to create Miragem (together with another partner), a film, television and advertising production company.
During the first 3 year of experience, Miragem produces dozens of television advertising spots, whether in video or 35mm film.
Henrique Oliveira, is the director of all the projects from the company. In fact, these years were considered his learning school, where he develops know-how skills in all areas such as pre-production, production and post-production of image and sound.
In 1990 Henrique has the opportunity to develop and direct his first project, a TV crime series, known as Claxon.
In 1998 he creates and is also the co-writer and director of the absolutely innovative series for the time, Major Alvega. This thriller adventure series is based on the popular comic book hero, in which real characters move in a universe of 2D and 3D drawings and animations. The series was sold internationally to several countries, being one of the first national works to achieve such feat.
In 2001 Henrique Oliveira founded another production company, HOP! Films, following the work of the other production company Miragem.
HOP! Films is a Portuguese independent production company, focused on producing international quality drama series and documentaries.
The first production created by HOP! Films and directed by Henrique Oliveira is a comedy series, A Minha Sogra É uma Bruxa . Following that, HOP! has created multiple series either comedies, dramas or fact-based series like Triângulo Jota (2005), O Segredo de Miguel Zuzarte and A Noite do Fim do Mundo (2010).
His recent projects include Vidago Palace (2017), 1986 (2018), Dentro (2016) and Mulheres de Abril (2012).
