Siu-Lung Leung

He was one of the biggest stars in Asian martial-arts films when, in the early 1980s, he took a trip to mainland China, which had banned his films, to try to persuade them to lift the ban. Upon his return he discovered that his fans, especially in Taiwan, did not appreciate what they saw as his "sucking up" to the Red Chinese government and many stopped going to his movies. He found work increasingly difficult to obtain, and by 1988 his career was over. He didn't make another film until 2004.
