Frères d'arme

Nearly excellent first movie for its director, poignant, taut, tense, pulled by good performances from young actors; including Vincent Rottiers in a role that seemed to have been made for him. He will never be the son in law whom any parents will think about, on the contrary, rather a rebel, a young man in constant distress, on the edge, in nearly any of his films. Here, it is question of a family feud around vengeance, secret, friendship stronger than blood lines. It is a drama, a social tragedy. So shame that it was not better released, better known. Not for all audiences, and that's precisely the reason why I love it. Except the awful ending which is such a disappointment. I HATE this kind of ending. SOOO weak. As in a Hollywood feature.
