El Karate Kid 4: la nueva aventura

Daniel Larusso, the protagonist of the first 3 films, does not appear in the film. It is presumed that he went away to college, though in the series Cobra Kai (2018), Daniel tells one of his Karate students that he never went to college. Macchio was 33 when this film was made; too old to reprise his role as a "Karate Kid." He publicly stated that he was "not interested in becoming the Sylvester Stallone of Karate Kid movies." Though, 24 years later, he did agree to star in the Cobra Kai series, based on his Karate Kid films for YouTube's new original content channel, most likely because his career had been sliding downhill for years.

Miyagi tells Julie that her grandfather saved his life and in return he taught him Karate, however in El Karate Kid (1984), Miyagi tells Daniel that he has never taught Karate to anyone before.
