Wow, I wasn't expecting that, this was a quite astonishing episode, storytelling at its absolute best, it's heart breaking, it's powerful, it's traumatic.
It's incredible how all of the strands are knitting together, the crack in the wall, even the scene between Rebecca and Peter Quint is thrown in.
T'Nia Miller, let's be honest, it's a masterclass in acting from her, she puts in a quite astonishing performance here, she oozes class, style, empathy, for me, she's proving to be the standout.
I also thoroughly enjoyed the insight into Owen's life, I'm sure they'll explore his character further, Rahul Kohli always delivers.
10/10.

¿Sabías que…?
- TriviaWhile discussing his mother's dementia, Owen paraphrases an observation from theologian and Trappist monk Thomas Merton. While he does acknowledge the difficulty of losing the person he knew, Owen also sees something beautiful in the change. "Once we get past consciousness, and identity, and all the things that occupy the front of our brains." That paraphrased observation was actually a quote from one of Merton's books, New Seeds of Contemplation.

[first lines]
Narrator: The housekeeper knew, more than most, that deep experience was never peaceful. And because she knew this ever since she'd first called Bly home, she would always find her way back to peace within her daily routine, and it had always worked. Always.
Owen: [joining Mrs. Grose at the bonfire] We can't count on the past. We can't count on the past. That's what I learned taking care of Mum. Hm. It's kind of what dementia is, isn't it? I supposed I learned a lot on this. I mean, we - we think we have it trapped in our memories, but memories fade, or they're wrong. Any of us could die, at any moment. Or we could forget our entire lives, which is like dying. So then, think about it. We can't count on our future, either. No past. No future.
Mrs. Grose: Oh, my God, it's scary, I know, but, Owen, you're young. Like, you have a past, you have a future. Now, I'd argue you can count on both. Poor, sweet, drunk man.
