During the COVID pandemic, writer/director Marcus Markou set up an online acting class called ZEIG (Zoom Experimental Improv Group) where actors and writers would collaborate to improvise stories via Zoom. Through this, Markou met actress Laura Bayston and was so impressed with her ability that he cast her as the lead in this film.

Fantastic Indie Film

I don't tend to write reviews of films but I felt I wanted to for this film.

This is a fantastic and complex film that doesn't just follow the formula but takes some interesting turns along the way and keeps you intrigued. It's a slow burn that delivers story elements as and when needed (rather than in big info dumps) which leads to a satisfying emotional journey.

This all taken into account with the fact that it was shot over 9 days during the pandemic make it even more of a great achievement. Marcus and his cast and crew should be extremely proud of their achievements.

In a wider view, what Marcus and his team have achieved with securing a cinema run with their Cinema For A Pound scheme is outstanding and is trailblazing a path for other indie filmmakers to follow.

A fantastic project all round. Highly recommended.
