Exandria Unlimited: Calamity - Excelsior

Having watched Brennan Lee Mulligan on Dimension 20 I was a bit skeptical whether he could do run a serious game for CR. After watching the first episode I will never doubt Brennan again. He is a masterful storyteller and his pacing is just god tier. He's always been a great improv DM and his talent truly shines with this All Star cast. Sam and Aabria playing off of each other as a divorced couple is the epitome of "Yes and'ing" and made for some hilarious moments ("Bolo") 🤣 Can't wait to watch the rest!

Brennan Lee Mulligan and the entire cast were meant to play together. The drama, fun, suspense and nervous anticipation permeated throughout this starting episode. If you want to watch an actual play dnd series but don't have the time for CR campaigns that have 100 episodes each taking 400+ hours then this 20 hour adventure is sure to be an amazing experience. As someone who watched all of Fantasy High, The Seven ,Campaign 1 of CR and Campaign 2 of CR this is perhaps the very best one (not to take away from the others, each of them are exceptionally great). But EXU Calamity was just another sort of experience. To this day It strikes me just how amazing every part of this 4 part epic series is each amazing. Truly a must watch all the way through. Maybe the best DnD actual play game to ever be recorded.

When I started watching, it was because I liked Dimension 20 (On dropout tv), and saw Brennan was guest hosting critical role. I was not expecting to shout in joy at parts, and I definitely was not expecting to weep at the last episode. Brennan had these very seasoned cast members crying their eyes out with sadness, happiness, and hope. The story was a masterpiece. The cast was amazing. The last thirty minutes are flawless and breathtaking. There are also so many laughs, bonding, and improvised dialogue that make you believe these are real friends and family. Even the amazing cast was weeping.
