Lilith

Part confessional, part detective story, part mystery, part comedy, part music, part horror, part religious mumbo jumbo. This show was mostly enjoyable. Like the movie "Cold Pursuit," it handles death in an often humorous manner, making the violence easier to digest.

I felt episode seven was the best of the season. Episodes 1-6 were also good. The problem occurs with episode eight, the supposed finale.

The way the writers chose to "end" this season reminded me of so many limited series over the past handful of years that do a good job of hooking the viewer throughout, but then deliver a big let-down at the end.

"Blue Eyed Samurai" comes to mind. Also Season Four of "True Detective." And there are others, too many to mention.

There was no real resolution here. Just a cheesy device to assume there's gonna be a Season Two.

That's the wrong approach for me as a viewer. Season One should've wrapped up this case entirely. It didn't have to bleed over into a supposed continuation of the story that may never occur.

I generally rate on a scale of one to five stars, rather than IMDB's one-to-ten scale.

On my scale, this one gets a "Three," while episode 7 got a "5," episode 6 got a "Four-and-a-half" and episodes 1-5 got four stars each.

This was the weakest show of the season, unfortunately, IMO. It's no "Constantine," which I'll be watching again to enjoy a closing chapter that actually works.

Hub Halloran is going to hell. He was aiming for Lucky Callahan at the bar and instead shot Cheryl Dawson by mistake.

Maybe that is why he is called Lucky!

Hub buried Cheryl in the woods but she was a demon called Lilith and she has awoken.

Lilith had the voice of an angel and she can control minds.

Now she wants revenge on Hub and vengeance on everyone, particularly men.

The Bondsman's finale was uneven and messy. It had the potential of a neat wrap up but then wants to set up a second series. That will never happen as Amazon cancelled it.

It probably left most viewers unsatisfied without s definite conclusion. Worse, it made the lead character, Hub look like a jerk.

The Supernatural TV series loved to bring in other hunters to various episodes. The other hunters were often rednecks or hillbillies who had bad skills compared to Sam and Dean.

Kevin Bacon as a total rednecky hunter who just makes it up as he goes along was pretty entertaining. Unfortunately, his supporting cast was lame.

Unlike Sam and Dean who usually had good guest stars on their show, Bondsman just had unknown actors and third-stringers as their cast. That did not help the low-budget style of this series. The CGI on this show made Supernatural look great. I actually appreciate Supernatural a lot more thanks to watching the eight episodes of Bondsman.

The horrible finale, where Lilith gets over on Kevin Bacon and he lets the world down, was bad. The series was canceled. Even though it was not officially related to Supernatural, it really feels like hillbilly hunter DJ Qualls should have been on this show, along with Castiel making a cameo.
