La banda perfecta

I liked the concept of bands assembling themselves blindly and after seeing how well it panned out, I really hope we get more of it in the future (fingers crossed for another season).

There obviously has to be some drama and a "villain" which I'm never a fan of in competition shows. However, because of the way the episodes were released in batches, the villain wasn't quite as irritating as they might be in shows that only release one episode a week. If I'd had to sit through more than a few weeks of their drama, I would have lowered my rating.

My only wish (if the show is renewed for more seasons) is for either more starting groups or more performances. I liked watching these bands so much that I wanted more than the handful of shows that they got to put on. If season one becomes a success, hopefully Netflix will give them the room to expand.

The real winners are you know exactly who, prove me wrong. But overall, a great and enjoyable show, didn't expect I will like it so much. Let's talk about budget too, it was ON.

Love the diversity of groups and the actual talent that made it into the show.... A true delight to the genre of reality music competition. Anyone knows season 2 is coming up?

I wanted to love it. I'm one of those who actually likes this kind of thing and enjoy seeing people succeed. This could have been a really good variation on a theme of wannabe singers making good. But it just isn't. It misses. Put simply it's so fake...so extraordinarily and obviously faked. A lot of the singers involved are actually good. Many are probably as good if not better than the usual folks that audition for telly singing competitions. But the format and story arcs of the contestants are just bad and telegraphed from the beginning ...we have the snooty all singing, all dancing, I'm better than everyone one who vacillates between nice and nasty. There's a Harry Styles lookalike. The love story. The one who lets the side down and has to go. The one who won't dance. The 'band' who from the beginning are simply brilliant and the 'band' who sadly are not. The troubled band. The band you can't remember. And more. All the Instagram tropes are there. There's the established pop stars who look oddly somehow out of place and are trying just a bit too hard to be part of all this youth. And if I hear or see any more screaming or fake excitement jumping up and down .argh...it's too much and of course they all love each other and swear life long fealty on sight. I digress.

I think I know who should win but fear they won't and I will watch to the end just to see how the producers have decided to placate the pop charts. It is a fair rehash of a format that's familiar and it has been done before but I suspect Simon Cowell did it better. Enjoy ...

The panel of judges only chose them because its a typical group that they feel the public would accept. But the world is so much more open and diverse. They sold out. Both groups were on point nmbut szn4 brought it from the START and never slacked. Im really disappointed with the cast. I hope next time they do better and not fall into the dictation of what they want personally Verses what truly should be. Kelly wouldn't have made it if she wasnt the cousin. Her albums flopped. Diversity is in.

So I just binged-watched the first 4 episodes.

I like the concept of the show, it has a "Voice of..." Vibe, but this time, the contestants themselves can choose who they want to build a band with, without having seen the other ones.

It's all about the voice and the vibes.

What I am not so sure about is the fact, that 1) People are being told immediately that they don't have enough likes and are voted out.

Because it means that other singers might not have the chance to get 5 likes because their potential voters have already left.

(Example, 4 are still in 1, one has left. The singer only gets four likes, cause the one who has already left can no longer vote; but the other 4 would have liked to build a band with the singer)

2) People can apparently choose their band before having heard everyone sing.

What with the pressure to form a band before being left out in total, it means that last singers might never make it into a band because they have all been formed before.

Also, people being able to chat with each other before everyone has sung.

It is obvious that some are forming a bond with other singers, while others not even being able to join since they haven't sung yet.

All in all, a fun show to watch, am looking forward to seeing the last 6 remaining episodes.

At this moment, I'm rooting for the boyband with Shane in it (not saying any other names to avoid spoiling) They look the most authentic.

But who knows :)
