I honestly feel like the crew here is wasting major opportunities with the story.
S16 & S17 were both marketed as the BAU having to hunt "evolved" serial killers - and yet we have Voit who's being made incredibly human (for a serial killer) and faulty when it suits the script better.
Same goes for "Gold Star" who turns from "evolved super serial killers" to subpar killer brats??
I mean the human aspects used to be reflected within the BAU team: Morgan's interactions with the team, personal tragedies like Maeve or Hotchner or even Prentiss who had to revisit an earlier life. Personal growth used to be a thing.

- Again with a focus on humanizing the characters and make them relatable or faulty when it suits the script.

- Now those things are missing and instead we get relatable serial killers? Why??
- S17 was decent throughout, but I really hoped the season was as marketed: Evolved serial killers.. But we didn't that (again)..
The season finale was above average for Acolyte's standard throughout it's 8 episodes. That's not a compliment though.. It's better than terrible but worse than good.
In terms of their "sith focused" show that was sold as "Frozen meets Kill Bill" - I didn't see anything remotely Sith, Frozen or Kill Bill..
The writing was bad. It seemed like the writers knew where they wanted to go, but had zero clue as to how to get there. From there the story was simplistic with no complexity. Empty on Star Wars lore, depth or mythology which I guess is why they added the twins? - To add some drama to this otherwise empty show.
The storytelling was even worse. With an estimated $180 million budget - it looked terrible. It sounded terrible. How does it sound terrible?! This is STAR WARS?! Or it should be.. Sound have been Star Wars' stronger side?!
Character design and development were bad. Almost every set looked feeble, small in scale and often fake. Every jedi looked generic and the acting was even worse; Except for Lee Jung-Jae, he did brilliantly.. Too bad his character wasn't written brilliantly.
"A good novel tells us the truth about its hero; but a bad novel tells us the truth about its author."
And this show tells us a lot of truths about it's writers..

- The plot, the themes and the dialogue are somewhat contradictory. They do not line up, which give the episode finale and series in general, this sense of being "all over the place".

This finale was everything I knew it would be. And that's a damn shame :(
From watching episode 9 I knew the finale would feel like episode 9 did: Detached, flat and perhaps derailed story wise.
There were never really a sense of urgency. The stakes didn't feel high and there wasn't really a payoff.
Shouldn't the viewer get a form of payoff from a finale? I mean sure there can still be a cliffhanger that it ends on. A "to be continued" sure but there's nothing here. Like opening an empty container..
Instead of focusing on the BAU doing what the BAU does. This turned into a bureaucratic cloak and dagger thing last minute?....Why?!
Why wasn't this what it was hyped to be? The BAU vs an Apex Predator serial killer...
I'm sure a following season can be amazing, but why couldn't this finale be as well...??
