TV series Picard ( 2020 to 2023 ) has 3 seasons, that I rate as such;
(Season 1) = 7 out of 10 ( worth watching & look forward to more ).
(Season 2) = 6 out of 10 ( makes you think show should end soon ).
(Season 3) = 8 out of 10 ( ends up being best season, a good finish ).
Thus Star Trek Picard is definitely worth a watch ( once + if you a Star Trek fan especially of STTNG like I then this becomes a must watch ).
The Directing is good, the scripts make sense & are written well so why then is Star Trek Picard just a 7 out of 10 show?
Answer is the casting of the show is erratic from the sublime to the really annoyingly bad acting, which is what hurts the show so much;
so as the actors performances are the main reason why the show is either great ( at times ) or incredibly annoying to watch ( at other times ) I've decided I'll rate the actors performances in my personal opinion;
(1) Patrick Stewart = Jean-Luc Picard 30 episodes, 2020-2023,
obviously a fantastic actor & deserves 9 out of 10 as wonderful.
(2) Michelle Hurd = Raffi Musiker 28 episodes, 2020-2023,
unfortunately ruins every scene she is involved in as 0 out of 10 as her awful acting probably loses the show 2 stars over those 28 episodes.
(3) Jeri Ryan = Seven of Nine 25 episodes, 2020-2023,
is a delight to watch acting & deserves a solid 8 out of 10.
(4) Alison Pill = Dr. Agnes Jurati 20 episodes, 2020-2022,
was fascinating to watch as a very entertaining 9 out of 10.
(5) Santiago Cabrera = Cristóbal Rios / ... 18 episodes, 2020-2022,
did a very good job as I enjoyed his acting style so 8 out of 10.
(6) Evan Evagora = Elnor 15 episodes, 2020-2022,
was OK as a young actor however he needs to develop so 5 out of 10.
(7) Isa Briones = Soji / ... 14 episodes, 2020-2022,
was a pleasant surprise though still could do better so 7 out of 10.
(8) Brent Spiner = Adam Soong /Data ... 13 episodes, 2020-2023,
was always fun to watch as some good performances so 8 out of 10.
(9) Jonathan Frakes = Will Riker 12 episodes, 2020-2023,
had some well acted emotional scenes bring him to 9 out of 10.
(10) Orla Brady = Laris / ... 11 episodes, 2020-2023,
always enjoy watching her performances as a deserved 8 out of 10.
(11) Ed Speleers = Jack Crusher 10 episodes, 2023,
now I was thoroughly impressed as definitely a 10 out of 10 here.
(12) Gates McFadden = Doctor Beverly Crusher 10 episodes, 2023,
has never been a very good actress & was a negative throughout Star Trek The Next Generation in my opinion, however I will give her credit in Star Trek Picard to say she surprised me by doing a lot better than I had feared she would do ( based on STTNG ) & overall she proved to be a positive in this show with a solid performance of 6 out of 10.
(13) Todd Stashwick = Captain Liam Shaw 10 episodes, 2023,
was a bit in & out with his performance as sometimes he was good however he had a few poor acting scenes too so just 6 out of 10.
(14) Ashlei Sharpe Chestnut = Ensign Sidney La Forge 10 episodes, 2023, was OK for a young actress but that was all at 6 out of 10.
(15) Joseph Lee = Lt. Mura 10 episodes, 2023,
another young actor who was only OK so another 6 out of 10.
(16) Jin Maley = Ensign Esmar 10 episodes, 2023,
again another young actress who was OK so 6 out of 10.
(17) Stephanie Czajkowski = Lt. T'Veen 8 episodes, 2023,
once again another OK performance so 6 out of 10.
(18) Harry Treadaway Harry Treadaway ... Narek 7 episodes, 2020,
also like the other young actors in the main did a 6 out of 10.
(19) John de Lancie = Q 8 episodes, 2022-2023,
always fun to watch & put in an entertaining 8 out of 10.
(20) Michael Dorn = Worf 7 episodes, 2023,
was outstanding as he always is & an expected 9 out of 10.
(21) Marina Sirtis = Deanna Troi 7 episodes, 2020-2023,
was her usual level so just a 5 out of 10 ( as just bearable to watch ).
(22) Peyton List = Lieutenant Narissa Rizzo 7 episodes, 2020,
as nothing special in her performance so another 6 out of 10.
(23) Sol Rodriguez = Dr. Teresa Ramirez 7 episodes, 2022,
as did quite good at times so deserves a solid 7 out of 10.
(24) Annie Wersching = Borg Queen 6 episodes, 2022,
was superb as always & deserves a definite 9 out of 10.
(25) Tamlyn Tomita = Commodore Oh 6 episodes, 2020,
was another just OK young actor so another 6 out of 10.
(26) Amanda Plummer = Vadic 6 episodes, 2023,
was way over the top in her acting that took another star off the show as could only give her 2 out of 10 as rarely was her performance OK.
(27) LeVar Burton = Geordi La Forge 5 episodes, 2023,
was a bit below his normal average level so just 5 out of 10.
Now there are a few other famous ( ish ) Star Trek faces you will see & they all were solid 6 out of 10's mainly, however as this is a Star Trek spin off all these cameos from the Star Trek universe are good to see.
It's just a shame the casting got some key parts so very badly wrong as without the 2 worst actors in the the series it could have been so much better, as this does show how bad actors can hurt good scripts too.
It was disappointing that so many of the young actors were only 6 out of 10 in their performances, however I do hope to see much more of Alison Pill = Dr. Agnes Jurati & of course Ed Speleers = Jack Crusher in any other Star Trek series in the future as these 2 are very good.
