- AnecdotesAh My Goddess Fans consider the Fighting Wings Anniversary Special and the three OADs released in 2011 to be a stand-in for the third season that never quite happened after the show went on hiatus. An unofficial third season, that chronologically takes place after the end of the Manga, was made in the form of a bootleg video comic titled Ah! My Goddess: Bad Goddess in 2017 without the consent of Kodansha or Kosuke Fujishima and released on various internet sites, such as YouTube, for the Ah My Goddess Internet Community. The context of that season is it was intended as a Storyboarded Practical Joke Pitch made by an intern at a Public Access Station who was suffering a nervous breakdown due to bi-polar disorder and sleep deprivation. The joke premise is that it's so tongue in cheek, outspoken, and terrible, that it could never conceivably be greenlighted for production, unless that producer was insane and didn't care about his future career. It's also a psychological allegory film.
- GaffesIn Episode 1.1, Keiichi is told to get a phone call for one of his dorm mates at exactly 7:00PM. The entire second half of the episode focuses on him getting home to receive the call. At precisely 8:00PM [as shown by the clock on his table] he picks up the phone to contact his dorm mate about the call, and accidentally calls the Goddess Hotline. It is very clearly shown he does this at 8:00PM. In Episode 1.2, during the sequence where Belldandy talks to the electronics in Keiichi's room, the LCD clock on the Betamax player reads 7:30PM.

I tried to like this series, I really did. And it does have a lot of good factors; good animation, interesting(ish) protagonist, exciting new elements and magic... However, wat really bothers me is Belldandy's lack of her own personality. From the moment she becomes Keiichi's personal goddess, all she cares about is making him happy. Which is cool and all, but not even once, she has any sort of desire to do/experience something just because of herself. It's like her life started when she met the guy. It's sad because she looks to be highly objectified; a "perfect" girl who does everything the guy tells her to, with a smile on her face, basically being a voluntary slave. Keiichi rarely asks her about her feelings on different matters, even those that directly affect her life. When he falls in love with her his reasons are basically; she's cute, she can cook, she's nice. Seems like this anime is a bit unbalanced, and Belldandy really needs a more complicated personality, with raw emotions, not just smiling all the time.
