Storyline is a bit hard to watch. Child abuse in both families with people (supposedly caring) just standing by allowing it to happen. Story draws one in and you wish Nalan to get angry just a little. She seriously needs help breaking free from everyone abusing & manipulating her. The affect the abuse of her grandmother has had on Nalan reverberates throughout her adult life, so much so that she cannot see who else is having the same affect on her. She later becomes a pathetic person, clinging to her abuser, who she gave up everything for. Or maybe it's the realisation that she has given up everything for someone who was not worthy at all.
This series, loosely based on true events, is actually very good. Portraying the affect abuse has on a person, and how difficult it is to break free and see things for what they really are. I shouldn't give bad ratings because I 'm so frustrated and angry with the characters. All the actors are excellent.
People you once loved, you later hate and vice versa. You want to stop watching but you just can't. One hopes that there will be a happy ending for Nalan...with healing in the end.
