Seeing Lupe (Elena Anaya) locked up at home, in her bathrobe and slippers, no one would say that in the eighties she was a rock star. Ever since her brother died, Lupe has lived an agoraphobic life at odds with her teenage son and her rare Mexican mother (Angelica Aragón) . The concerts, the fame and the successes were alluring. Her agaraphobia does not allow her to leave home and she is totally dependent on Paquita, her mother, a superstitious and big-hearted Mexican, who not only takes care of her daughter but also her teenage son, Pancho (Cristian Bernal). The problem is that Paquita is running out of time and she doesn't want to leave without first getting her daughter back. Thring go wrong when the ghost Diego (Nahuel Pérez Biscayart) shows up . It takes a drastic 'Day of the Dead' ritual to wake her up and teach her the value of saying goodbye.
Debut in feature film direction by Beatriz Sanchis, who also writes the script for this dramatic comedy in which her characters, if they want to go out going forward, they must face their ghosts, which resolve to be some metaphorical and others downright real. Powerfully staged and convincingly acted, this debut feature film combines melodrama, comedy, and magical realism with a bubbling imagination across multiple levels of time and place to create a moving story of youthful identity and dark sibling love. Along with Elena Anaya, who gives a pretty good performance, a good supporting cast appears, such as: Patrick Criado, Nahuel Pérez Biscayart, Angélica Aragón, Christian Bernal, Patricia Reyes Spíndola and Macarena García.
